I am interested in finding or starting a cooperative group of breeders to work together in strengthening and expanding the Oriental Longhair breed. I would like to bring in new blood lines from the outcross breeds, improve type, and widen the gene pool.

I am fairly new on the scene, but have fallen in love with the Orientals and dearly wish to see them around for years to come. I would like any advice on the "politics" of this sort of effort, as well as any comments or suggestion. I don't know where to start, so I'll try starting here.

I believe Frannie is going to reply to your post. She knows someone and a very good breeder of Orientals and Meezers who also happens to be a geneticist. Hopefully she reply's soon, if not I will see what we can do for you.

Hey Sandie, I beat you to it -- last week. We are e-mailing each other this week and you know who I'm going to have her get in touch with so I don't have to tell you.

Hrmmm...on the West Coast...Meezers, Geneticist...it's gotta be Cristy. *smile*

Oooops, Frannie, I messed up your post! I am so sorry, I just hit the wrong button...I thought I was replying, when in fact I deleted some of your message to Sandie. Again, please forgive me.

No problem Gaye. You didn't delete much. Hey Sandie, all I wanted to say was I'm glad we were all together this weekend. I always have fun at shows. And Gaye, you were wrong, the person I'm referring to is on the eastcoast. I'm originally from there and that's where most of my cat family is. Again, I don't get mad at cat people who are so wonderful -- like you.

I am glad you weren't mad - you just never know these days!!!! *smile*

On the East Coast, hrmmm? Well, I stand corrected! When Sandie said "geneticist and Meezers", I figured there was only one person it could be, and that was Dr. Cristy Bird. I figured incorrectly it seems!

Thanks for understanding about deleting part of your post...I get scattered sometimes. *smile*

Yours,

Gaye

Hi Gaye. Just to let you know that when I forget something or do something wrong, my husband calls it "sometimers disease". Also, the person I'm referring to is my mom.

O gees. My husband has been saying that also as he's now calling me an old lady (I'm turning 41 on on the 24th and he's going to be 30 in June). I keep telling him to respect his elders.

Frannie, please send me another e-mail. I lost your e-mail adress and can not get it through this site. Sorry 'bout that, I wasn't ignoring you.
I am very interested in talking to you.
