I've got into this routine with Harry. If he has a look in his eye like he wants to jump up and sleep on me, I get up, go to the bathroom, grab a glass of water and turn on the telly/grab a book/have the internet close by. Then I'm ready for the kitty loving.

My point is, I used to suffer rather than get Harry up from his comfy sleeping position,; i.e. badly need to use the loo, collapse from dehydration etc
. Anyone else this good to their kitties?!

OMG yes! Guilty as charged

I can be so soft with Arwen..she will give me the "I'm ready to jump on your lap for a cuddle now!" look. And before I let her, I make sure that I've visited the bathroom, had something to eat or drink, then either settle with my laptop or a good book!

Then she has Meowmy's permission for cuddles
That way I don't need to disturb her mid nap for a break.

oh geez! I'm the worst in bed. the girls sleep cuddled either on, or next to me and I won't even get up to go to the bathroom if it disturbs them.

I yell at my SO if he disturbs them too

Knee deep in cat litter
Yep, I am totally guilty. I contort myself if I have to get out of bed. I wouldn't want to bother my sleeping babies.
It comes in handy having kids cause if I have a cat on my lap or on me and I need something I ask the kids to get it.

We have 'cat protocol' if either has a cat on their lap the other has to do all the drink fetching etc - works great for me as I'm generally the favoured lap
if we both have a cat then Pipsi takes precedence mon, wed and fri and Little Dude on tue, thurs and sat, on sundays if the date is an odd number its Pips, even, Dude (beginning to sound mad even to myself now
) of course this doesn't really work as neither of us can quite bring ourselves to make the other disturb their cat so we still go thirsty if we have a cat each

There was an... author, I think it was, that owned a cat - the cat liked to jump up on the arm of his chair and sleep while he wrote, but rather than disturb the cat when he had to leave, he would cut off his sleeve.

A similar story is told about the prophet Mohammed.

my husband gets abit grouchy some nights cos he'll wake up to find himself right on the edge of the bed. when he tells me to move over i say, 'i can't, the cat's there'. he then has abit of a grumble and goes back to sleep, still on the edge of the bed!

this same man will constantly be checking on the cats though, making sure they are ok, where they are, etc.
