This kind of stuff makes me so angry.....my husband and I have been having infertility problems for the past five years. Here I am doing EVERYTHING that I can to get pregnant, losing my figure from the fertility drugs, having horrid mood swings, surgeries, the works.... just so I can have a little angel of my own and here is some loser abusing a child of their own flesh and blood!! She doesn't deserve this child, nor does she deserve the one that she is pregnant with.

I feel for you, too honey. We weren't planning children and weren't careful just one time and now I am pregnant. We're rapt, of course, but whenever I am tempted to complain about how crappy I'm feeling, how tired I am, how much my back hurts, I just remember what a blessing this is and how fortunate we are.

I see so many people mistreating their kids when I do the shopping or whatever - not necessarily `abuse' but just not looking after them properly and so on, speaking to them like they're scum, the kids look miserable and intimidated, and I just think `Don't you guys get it? Don't you get how amazing this is? Didn't you just cherish every moment of your pregnancy and don't you just cherish your child?' It blows me away that people can do this kind of thing to their children.

Before I was pregnant I used to just worry about all the poor and mistreated, abused and desperate animals out there, and I still do, but now I've added all the children to my list. There are so, so many of them. And not only will they be miserable as children, they'll probably grow up to perpetuate the abuse with their own children.

And so many people who want children and can't have them, that I often think, `why can't we just take all the kids off their ungrateful, horrible parents and give them to the people who would do anything to love and care for them?'

But I guess the world is an unfair place a lot of the time.

I know how you feel DH and I are in the same boat with you...It makes me so mad to see this kind of stuff!! People like that do not even deserve their on lives let alone their child's life!

Hahaha well... this is why I don't want to have children, because I'd probably do something like that. But at least I admit it. I really would be satisfied being the cool aunt who spoils the crap out of 'em, makes 'em rotten, and sends them back home to mom and dad so they can deal with it :p

Who knows... it was probably one of those moments where the kid was freaking out because the mom sucks as a parent and her kid doesn't respect her. I know I'd be pretty shocked if I was throwing a fit and my mom pressure washed me! That would definitley calm me down because I'd be going... "What the heck?"

I'm not saying she's parent of the year, obviously a really bad idea.

I did see an update on one of the bigger news stations today where she said she didn't have the high pressure turned on...but what is the difference?? it still is cruel & dehumanizing & I wonder what this poor baby goes thru at home behind closed doors. People like this should be sterilized.
I'm one of the women who don't want to have children, having the common sense to realize that motherhood wouldn't suit me, not wanting to have babies for the wrong reasons, but never realized what kind of pain that other women who want children & can't have them feel when seeing something like this.

I too wish people would realize how amazing pregnancy and childbirth truly is. At age 19 I met the man of my dreams and now husband (I'm 22) and I had to tell him that I may never give birth to his children. Then I see something like this and I just don't understand how someone could do that to such a precious gift from God. Something I want so badly.

When I saw that on the news I about threw up!! I mean, why have the kid if you dont want it! I have 3 already but I would take another one in a heatbeat if it meant saving them from that kind of abuse!!

I did see an update that the woman turned herself in to the police. At least she's willing to take a little responsibility for her actions, even if it's just because she knew she would get caught. And at least the authorities are investigating the home to see if it's anywhere near safe for that little girl.

I heard that the child is with her grandmother. I wonder if it's the woman's mother though. If it is chances are good her parenting skills aren't all that great either.

That isn't always true. I know a boy being raised by his grandmother because his mother is screwed up and his father is absent from the situation. His grandmother is a wonderful person and I don't know why her daughter ended up like she did. If that boy didn't have his grandmother he would probably be in Juvy right now. (that poor boy can't even stand to be near his mother, she upsets him too bad)
