it started snowing today at noon. by the time i left school [early, 220pm] we had 3-4 inches!
now, mind you, yesterday it was so warm i didn't need a jacket! snow is supposed to continue thru out the night & tomorrow.
it hasn't snowed like this here [especially in MARCH!] in 32+ years...
usually we get ice during the winter, but we haven't had any of that, even, for about 2 years.
we're usually wearing sandals by now!
if i wanted to drive/live in this stuff, i'd've moved north long ago!
pix of my house...coming as soon as the batteries are charged up!

Yeah that was my bad. I told the snow to go bother someone else for a change
. It was starting to get on my nerves. And yet we still have enough snow to bury the empire state building
.

Well as we have gotten 79.4 inches of snow to date with an average of 9-10 inches still to come in an average March.......

The hwy depts are well equipped to handle the conditions. They have gone through MASSIVE amounts of road salt though. Thousands of tons of road salt which isn't good for vehicles or the environment.

School districts build a few days in the calendar for snow days. They have exceeded them this season however and will have extended school yr unless they shorten up the Easter holiday.

You just get used to it. But for us here in Wisconsin this has been a very snowy and cold winter. I would rather have the snow than the extreme cold!!

Thank goodness temps are actually going to get in the normal range middle of next week. There is alot of snow to melt as I have piles easily over 4 feet at the edges of my driveway. Its pretty when its white but once it start to melt-yucky!!!

Don't forget about those potholes either!!

I remember in Texas we all got the winter coats out when it got down to 50° F (10° C). Here, by the Pacific, we get those temperatures often in the summer and we still wear sandals and shorts! 'Cause it's summer, darnit!

Now I finally know what a "summer sweater" is, something I couldn't fathom while living in Austin!

On the 12th floor
3 to 4 inches is nothing. 8 to 12 is messy. 12 and up is horrible.

Drive slow, don't feel pressure from the
behind you, and have a snowball fight.

That is all.

The parents started calling the schools around Noon - and picking the kids up early because it was so bad. Bleh. I didn't even wear my coat today, I just carried it.
The flakes were huge and fluffy, but soon turned mushy.
I just got home, east of 75 and the only snow is on the cars driving through. The ground is wet.

well, it's still on the ground, here...
doesn't appear to have even started melting. my mom says our school will probably be closed tomorrow.
we have 2 'bad weather days' built into our calendar. usually don't use either of them!

The word is that this is a record-breaking snowfall for Texas in the month of March. I just got in from Baton Rouge, LA. When I left Shreveport at 1 p.m., it was still sunny and 70 there although Dallas was reporting 34 and snow.

Ooo, I hope it snows down here! I think College Station is a little too far south though for it to make it here.

We've had a very snowy winter here in SE Michigan... and lots of freeze/thaw which wreaks havoc on the roads. They are HORRIBLE!

We're under yet another winter storm watch for tomorrow (Friday) through Saturday. Yuck!!!

We will be on the back end of that storm in the south, which will slide up the east coast.

And to answer your question - we pray for spring!

Can you come and clean my garage?

In the SF Bay area, we talk about snow in terms of altitude, such as the snow is down to the 3000 foot level. That is the height of the "mountain" in our vicinity. When DH and I moved here from Boston, we laughed at the persons driving down from Mt. Diablo with snowmen strapped to their car roofs. We
When our daughter was 4 and it snowed, we were right up there on top of Mt. Diablo throwing snowballs.
