A deputy at our door

A sheriff's deputy came to our door last nite. I thought one of us was in trouble.. at first but he asked for my mom. I didn't know what to think so I asked my sister what it was about and she told me that our mom got served with papers and has to appear in civil court. My sister said it has to do with our dad's estate. We both thought that our mom had settled his estate.. but I guess not.
