I am so SICK and DISGUSTED. I cannot believe how anyone , ANYONE could do such a thing to a POOR PUPPY AND ACTUALLY SMILE!

The miliatary is apparently investigating this but I won't hold my breath about them being punished. They probably will just get slapped on the hand.

I can't watch it. I fully believe that there are some (hopefully, not many)
that enlist in the military just to kill. I hope the military comes down hard on all these cowardly punks.

There's NO VIDEO of this- just a still picture of a marine grinning as he held a cute puppy by the scruff of the neck and an article about what went on.

I could NEVER watch a video like this myself. I can't watch the tv show animal cops (even though I KNOW some of these stories have happy endings) or any show that shows anything like neglect, cruelty, etc to creatures (that includes animals like lions eating a deer to survive).

I just got done signing the petition to investigate this video. There is another article at the TimesOnline. The comments are interesting, especially the number of people who want to say the puppy was already deceased. As if that really makes any difference.

It is not just these US Marines, there seems to be a growing sickness in society in general. It is bad enough people commit such atrocious acts, but what compels them to show them to the world, brag about them? It really makes me frightened for the future generations.

I REALLY HOPE that poor puppy was dead before this happened but what about the yelping sounds??

Where's the petition about this? I'd LOVE to sign it and any other petition to get these marines PUNISHED!

I think that this is a sign of what is happening to our troops emotionally from being in war in Iraq. Goes along with the Army Ranger who came home traumatized & RAPED his 9-MONTHS old baby girl - the child had suffered 17 broken bones and permanent brain damage.....What is this WAR doing to PEOPLE

There was a video of it, just not him throwing the puppy, only grinning after.

Now I imagine the war does some stuff you, people do go awol, but he didnt look crazy, he looked like he enjoyed it, how sick.

I couldn't bear to watch the video, but I truly hope it's a fake. I have a feeling it's not though. No matter what the war does to a person, I think you'd have to be scum to start with to do something like that. He'll be dishonorably discharged and have to deal with peer justice.

You said it... I want kids, but sometimes I have to really ask myself if I want to bring an innocent child into a world that is moving in the direction it seems to be going. I really think that the "freedoms" we have as Americans have been taken WAY too far. People take these things for granted. But if the government tried to step in and make strickter laws there would be a civil war. I wish people would just respect others. A big part of it also is bad parenting. People don't raise their kids to respect others.... Now that I'm grown and know about the world, I thank my parents for raising me the way they did!

i agree with what y'all are saying about the war, but in general if we look back this war isnt any worse on the military people then any war in the past. Look back at the vetrans from vietnam. They too came back with huge mental problems. Also ww11 those men who actually were around the camps in germany came back with HUGE problems. My grandpa was in the Korean war and had flashbacks and other problems. My pa was in the army during vietnam. We think its worse because we actually see more thanks to the increased media, had the media had such a strong infulence back then i am sure we would have seen the same things, maybe worse.


now that sick that raped his child should have been shot and killed, sorry maggot. and the guy with the puppy needs help, it takes a sick twisted mind to do this kind of thing, and how are we to know that he wasnt out doing these things before the war and only this time got the media attention because he is in the marines?

I saw the original video, IMO it's not fake, however, I believe the pup was already dead.
The yelping sounds that were heard were far too loud and too clear to have been very far from the camera, if they weren't actually added after the video was filmed.
Still, very sick for anyone to think it was amusing.

Fake or not, this is disgusting! If it is all a fake (fake dog doll) it should be banned from the net like that banzai kittens site...

The first time I saw it, I spotted several things that made me think it's a fake. Just for an example, his hand (and the puppy) go out of the frame just before he throws it.

It's a pretty sick thing to even fake, but these guys sometimes have a lot of time on their hands.

Just to kind of show a better side to the military, you remember a few years back a guy from Fort Hood rescued a puppy while he was over there. He kept the dog with him till his tour was almost over and he found a way to ship him back to the states. They did a story about it on one of the newsmagazine type shows. It was quite a feat involving several people and organizations to get him back to the states. This guy was a little older than these guys look, he had a wife and kids here in the states.

He uses some strong language, so becareful.

With all the publicity out there, that blog could easily have been written by anyone. . . could have been written by him, I'm just saying, anyone can use your name on the internet and this guys address has been posted in numerous places, it would be really easy for someone to fake his blog.

That being said, I think the video and the act were disgusting, regardless of whether it was a living dog or a stuffed toy. The kinds of things people do today for "entertainment" really scare me sometimes.
