She;s been really needy all day, following me around, so I moved her birthing box underneath my desk and kept petting her with my foot. I just heard a little mew and looked in the box to find a kitten!!! He/she is rooting for a nipple and Houdini seems to be sleeping!! So far only one (looks all black) but I'll keep you posted!!

Kitten #2 is out, but he came out without a sack and the cord is still attached and inside Houdini. Should I intervene or is this normal?

Eeeek, how exciting! I have no useful advice. Just wanted to wish Houdini a safe delivery!

#3 is out! He also looks black.

The kittens are all rooting, but when I squeeze her nipples, no milk comes out. Is this okay??

#4 just arrived. Looks like another tabby, so now we have 2 black kittens and 2 tabbies.

And so much for a stray needing 'intense privacy during birth' as my vet said. She bypassed the hidden birthing lair in the closet in her room where she is safe from dogs and kids and is delivering these kittens right underneath the table! Periodically the dog cautiously sticks his head under the table to see what's going on and Houdini doesn't pay any attention.

I'll put some pics up later but with a black cat and dark kittens, its hard to tell what's a kitten and what's a paw, tail, etc. I'm not sure if this is it, or if there are more to come...

Thanks for all the good vibes and wishes everyone!!
