They finally figured out that one of the medications she was on has caused her liver to be completely irritated and out of control. It is not known at this point in time if there is any permanent damage.
As soon as they found out, they stopped all her meds. As with any medication, there are always side effects, but with my mom it is always severe. She is highly allergic to many medications. Her immune system is also very sensitive.
Her legs are still swollen and hurt so much, but she can't take anything because it will just irritate the liver even more. What they have given her to try, does not work.
At this point, her biliruben is shot through the roof, her liver enzymes are shot, and her clotting factors are not clotting. She is completely yellow!
There is a little ray of sunshine. Her clotting factors are finally coming down. That has to come down before everything else can. Can I please get some vibes that they will go down and that she will get better?
It is so hard to go home and see her in bed, hardly being able to get up and walk. She is at home indefinately. I hope she will get better. There are times I don't know if she will. She can't go on like this.
