I don't know how many of you other than we Canadians know Jeff Healey, but he passed away yesterday at the age of 41. He will be greatly missed. If any of you saw the movie "Roadhouse" with Patrick Swayze and my hero, heart-be-still Sam Elliott, Jeff Healey's band was the house band in the movie. Jeff opened a bar in Toronto called Roadhouse named after that movie.

I saw him preform in Toronto a few years ago he was amazing. I cant believe the mind boggleing music he makes when he has been blind almost his whole life, it is very reminisant of Ray Charles (RIP). My heart goes out to his wife and Children, He was so young and talented and will be missed.

Yes, that's his song.

I was shocked when I heard the news this morning! My sister always went to see him when he was in town and he was brilliant.

Another, gone too soon.

His name should be known in the USA, he sold millions of albums there as well as in Europe.

I was devestated by the news when I heard it early this morning. He's always been one of my favourite musicians. He had such amazing talent. Blind at the age of 1 and a self taught musician of at least 3 instruments.

The world is a lesser place without him in it. I certainly hope that Canada honours him in some special way.

I was shocked and saddened to hear this this morning too
May he rest in peace, and many prayers for his family.

If the news coverage of his passing is anything to go by, he will be commemorated in some way.

I saw about him in the news this morning. It's very sad; he was so young.

He was a brilliant musician. he will be missed. My prayers go out to his family, especially his young son (aged 3) who has the same gene mutation (but not the cancer) that caused Healey's original cancer at 8 months.

Not only was he a great singer and musician but he was also an advocate for Childhood Cancer Survivors...He spent several years as spokesman for the Cancer Care Center at Sick Kid's in Toronto.
He was an inspiration to a lot of people in this capacity..
