Now that I know many people go back to threads that they have posted in, my follow-up question is how do you go about it? Do you subscribe to the thread or do you do it some other way?

For me personally, I just pick on "search" and then "advanced search". Under "search by user name", I type in my own name and select "find posts by user" and then pick "search now". Every post I've ever posted in comes up.

I do subscribe to some of them, other's though, if I'm curious to any additional posts, I just go to a thread that I posted in, and click on my user name to bring up more posts by me.

You know, you can also click on your user name in a thread you've posted in, go to "View Public Profile", then you can choose to either view all posts by yourself, or all posts started by yourself.

I often view the threads that I started to see if there's been any responses that I haven't read yet.

ETA: If you just want to find posts by you, click on your username in a thread, then click on "Find all posts by this user"

Right, I'm aware of that way of going about it. But, I have to find a thread that I posted in first in order to do that. So, I just do an advanced search to find all threads that I've posted in.

The main page of the forum shows who is online at the site. You can click your name from there. That's how I do it. It's much faster IMO.

I click New Posts & go through them all. If there is a specific thread I'm looking for, I go to that forum to find it.

if it's a thread i'm interested enough in to post in, i have mine set up to subscribe me, no email notification. that's the first place i got when i come here - my subscribed threads. i read updates, sometimes post again, then start looking for new stuff.
i also occasionallly subscribe to a thread w/o posting in it.
