I'm assuming it's just mint, in general, but when I pull out peppermints to eat, the cats will attemp to thick their heads into mine, sniff, lick, and make a general annoyance of themselves.

Is it harmful to cats to eat peppermint? It's of the round, hard red-and-white stripped variety (I've broken it into pieces so it won't pose a choaking hazard). As an occasional treat, is this fine?

(it's also fun to watch her lick them, and then get them stuck in her fur :p)

Peppermint is in the mint family which includes catnip. I've seen a number of cats who really like it.

I wouldn't give them candy, though.

My two previous cats, Torfinn and Gudrun, would go nuts with the Vicks.
Also, Ben-Gay.....they'd come up and nuzzle through the fabric of whatever I was wearing.

Also, yes, peppermint.

Hmmm......I should see what happens with Lena and Larry with Vicks.

Yeah, I've seen the Ben Gay thing before, too.

Hey, here's an old joke! What would call a guy who drives a pink chariot?

Ben Gay!

OK, you may have to be of a "certain age" to get that!

No candy for kitties, there are certain types of sugars that are really bad for animals to have.

As pointed out, they make pet peppermint products or you could grow them some fresh (and catnip) in spring. Just be careful, it can be a bit weed like in your yard if it gets loose.

Question? Will Annabel feel better if I suck one and give her the liquid? Seee also: how a bird feeds its young. Not poisonous is thank GG but what if any, healing benefits are there? Anise oil? Same question.

Clarification. That's thank G-D. And when I say like a mother bird I mean spit the stuff into my hand and either let her lick or rub on her mouth.or in it
