No kitty throw ups since coming home!

All she had since coming home has been water. Around 6pm she was pestering me for dinner but I didn't give in. I guess the medication made her sleepy and she finally gave up to sleep and slept in the cupboard for most of the evening and then on my desk. I kept going and touching her paw every hour or so to make sure she was "just sleeping"

I carried her to bed last night and she laid on the pillow next to me and we had a bit of our usual bedtime cuddle session and then she put her head on my arm
and went to sleep.

I woke up early so that I could give her the anti-nausea capsule. Not so easy! After 20 minutes I mixed it with some water but it doesn't dissolve and ended up a bunch of granuals in cloudy water. Plus I couldn't get her to keep her head still so I could sneak the syringe into the corner of her mouth to give it to her.

I was going to try a new capsule at that point, but they only gave me 10 and I have to give it to her twice daily for 5 days

She loves the juice from the canned tuna and I had some in the fridge from Friday so I put in a teaspoon of that into the water mixture and she had some, but I saw that the undissolved pill granuals were still there. So I mixed some more tuna juice into it and gave it a good stir and poured it into a tablespoon measurer. She licked it all up!

I waited 20 minutes and gave her 1 tsp of Friskies and so far she's kept that down. 30 minutes later she's now on the kitchen table laying down at the spot where Abby usually gets her wet food. So I think that's a sign that she wants some more!

I'm going to give her some more, maybe a tablespoon and see how she does. Then I'm going to the gym. If she hasn't thrown up I'll give her some more when I come home around lunch time.

I'm so glad that she's feeling better! Her face still looks "sick" and her eyes are still red and weepy, which is what is making her look sick, but she's starting to come around to her old self. On Tuesday I'll go and fill the Amlodipine prescription. I hope it's not expensive
Anyone know how much that stuff costs?

TCS vibes are the best and they really, really work!

Oh, I also told the girls at the vets about this site and they said it sounds great and they are going to check it out. I mentioned about how some members have arranged a "kitty cravan" to transport rescued pets from one state to another so that they can be adopted by someone here. They loved that!

She's been getting lots and lots of those! I can't stay away from her. She's off sleeping in the bedroom. She's trying to get away from possessive meowmy! hehe

Still no more throw ups. She has been throwing up at least 2 times per day for month and months and months, but she's always been a "puker". Sometimes one small puddle of liquified undisted food usually has a tiny fur ball in it. But Friday when she threw up so many times with one being water she had recently drank, and had diarrhea I got scared for her

I've always known I love Chynna to itty bitty bits! But the idea of her being sick like she was made me realize that love her even more than I thought I already did.

Thanks everyone for keeping Chynna in your thoughts. She knows that everyone here and their kitties have been pulling for her.

She's feeling much better today!

I've been giving her the antinausea medication twice daily. I can't get her to take the pill so I mix it with a little of the juice from the Fancy Feast and she licks the saucer completely clean, then I give her a larger portion 30 minutes later and the balance of her meal 30 minutes after that.

There have been no further kitty throw ups since Friday!

And this evening she is looking bright eyed and she isn't "pink" anymore. Her ears, nose and rims of her eyes are a pale pink like normal.

I should know more about her thyroid and the urine protein tomorrow or Wednesday, but whatever that brings I'll deal with it then. I'm just so happy that she's looking and feeling better for the time being.

Chynna has been doing so well! My homecare lady even notices a huge difference in her. She seems more peppy and alert and her appetite is back in a big way! I've been giving her wet food snacks about 4 times per day instead of 2 big portions.

She takes her blood pressure pill like a real trooper. Of course I have to dissolve it in a couple teaspoons of tuna juice. I open a can of tuna and use an ice cube tray to freeze it. 1 can of tuna gives enough for 6 cubs (1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons) and I just thaw it out each morning.

She goes back on the 31st for a follow up with Dr. Worb. Another blood pressure to see how the Norvasc is working and to get her Thyroid results.

I just got home from the vet for Chynna's follow up.

Her thyroid is 100% normal. It's right where he expects the levels to be for a healthy thyroid gland.
However, he was rather surprised that it was normal. She has every symptom associated with hyerthyroidism. He said that we'll keep an eye on that and perhaps repeat it again in a few months if she continues to lose weight.

He was concerned about the protein levels in her urine initially, but the results aren't too bad at all. She is in the "grey area" at 0.2. Failure is 0.4 and up from what I think he said.

Her blood pressure has come down considerably from 1 month ago. A month ago it was 240, today it was between 105 and 110
Chynna was so cute.
She laid in a "meatloaf" position on the scale while he did her blood pressure with the teensy weensy blood pressure cuff and she made bisquets on his hand and gave him kisses
He told me to feel free to just bring her by for a visit occasionally because the staff just love her

She has lost more weight though!
A month ago she was 5.17 kg, today she is 4.88 kg. She has lost 1/6 of a pound.

I have to weigh her on my scale today and then weekly to monitor her weight loss.

He also sent me home with 4 cans of k/d feline cat food. I have to gradually introduce it to her over a 2 week period. He said that at this point it's not really required to put her on a kidney diet, but doing it early will help slow down the progression kidney failure. So I agreed it was best to start her on it now.

She still has a bad tooth, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her or affecting her ability to eat. So we are going to wait on that as long as possible.

All-in-all he's very pleased with Chynna's health and told me that I was a good kitty mom

I'm so happy that my girl is feeling better and that she isn't seriously ill. So is my bank account
I still owe them $176 but I'll pay that at the end of this month. $600 was quite the unexpected expense and not one that I can really afford with my income, but you can't put a price on love
and I love my baby so much

Thanks for all of the TCS vibes! They sure helped!

Chynna sends you all lots of nose kisses
