This movie reminds me of a crazy teacher I had that said, "Writing isn't
about words. It's about the spaces between the words."

Morvern Callar isn't about dialog, like most films, it's about action.Rather, in this instance it's about reaction. Morvern wakes up one morning to find her boyfriend dead in their kitchen, his unpublished novel on their computer, and money in the bank to pay for his funeral. What is her reaction? She changes the byline on his novel to her name, and decides to go to Spain on vacation.

To boil this movie down would be rather silly, I could tell you what I think about it, but then again it really doesn't matter. I'll just put it this way. If you saw Lost in Translation and liked it Morvern Caller will work for you. If you saw Lost in Translation and hated it, avoid this at all costs. If you've never seen Lost in Translation you have homework. Go and see it. Tell me what you think. I have a big PM box don't you know!

Other than that... I just want to let this movie go.

I have not seen this but, have you reviewed Memento yet?
I have no idea in the world why I thought of Memento while reading this.

I liked Memento! To be honest some of the style in Morvern Callar does remind me slightly of Memento, but Memento was a better film by far.

I just did a quick Google check of Morvern Callar and found out it's a book. I'll have to pick it up some time and see how well it translates to film.

Some time this weekend I plan on watching Babe: Pig in the City and Battle Royale. Both are films that have been on my "must watch" list for quite some time.

I understand that it's not really a kids movie. I'll report back later.
