I'm not sure what to do. My cat Junior is 8yrs old. He has always been a big boy but it's getting out of hand. Last year he weighed 11lbs and the vet put him on dry diet food. This year when we went, he had gained 1 pound! So now we really cut back his food (we feed him 1/4cup in the am and 1/8 in the pm). But he finishes his food pretty quick and then is very sad that he has to wait like 12hrs till the next feeding. Sometimes (often) we cave and give him more but I know we probably shouldn't. What should we do? Just ignore him even though he's hungry? I feel like a bad momma. Please tell me what you would do. Thx

PS i tried to post a pic of the big guy but couldn't figure out how sorry

I think around 10 or 11 pounds is normal weight for a cat. I don't think 12 pounds is a big deal. I don't know. I would suggest feeding him a half cup in the am and half cup in the pm. I know it's a whole cup but 12 pounds just doesn't seem that bad to me. See what others have to say.
