I normally like to use the Feline Pine cat litter but the store was completely out and I needed some litter so I tried using Arm & Hammer's new Odor Alert cat litter. I think it was it's newness and color changing magic that made me want to try it.
Anyway, about a couple days into it's use, my 7 month old kitten came out of the litter box and threw up, twice (pretty much right after the first time, he went under my bed to do it again). After he was done, he was fine and dandy and ran around and ate as usual. This happened about 5 days ago. The day before yesterday, when I was scooping his litter box, he jumped into it as usual during cleaning to help or whatever, then used it (went #2 which is pretty normal while I'm trying to clean it), then went to bury it and as he sniffed the litter he gagged. Then after coming home this morning after a doctors appointment, he had thrown up again, in about the same places. My guess was the same pattern of coming out of the litter box, vomiting and then vomiting again.
Could Arm & Hammer's Odor Alert cat litter cause cats to vomit?
Today I went and got the Feline Pine cause I found another place that sells it. So hopefully he won't have anymore problems.
I should add that he eats just fine, is very active and would only vomit after using the litter box. I've never had this problem with any other cat litter as well.
