OK - I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy December 14. The surgery itself went well. But a bad abdominal infection set in and put me back in the hospital for almost 5 days. As I have healed up - some of the pain and discomfort has gone away. But not all. I ache in there, boy do I ache. Like the uterus was never taken out. Can't sit for long periods of time, cannot sleep on my side or back. Other disruptive things, too, that I won't elaborate on here.
Back to see the surgeon - I have a full range of lab tests and an ultrasound tomorrow. My brother, who is a doctor, speculated that I could have adhesions. They are not uncommon, but really, there is nothing one can do for them except ---- more surgery. I hope it is something else that doesn't require being cut open.
Sigh.... what a a drag to trade one set of problems for another.
