I guess I should introduce myself here. Besides, it's a chance to show off my girls!
I first found Kairi at PetSmart through Purrfect Pals. I wasn't actually expecting to get a cat that day, but when I reached in my hands to pet her and then tried to pull them out of the cage, she wrapped her paws around my wrist and wouldn't let me go. I just knew I had to take her home with me! When I was finished buying her every cat toy in the store and ready to take her home with me, I found out that her mom had been feral. Some volunteers caught her and her kittens, spayed the mom and made sure she was up to date with her shots then released her, gave her babies all of their shots and had them fixed, then adopted them out. The saddest part was that Kairi's siblings had all been adopted out and she was the only one left! I knew I had to give her a home after that.
We got her home, but I had no experience with ferals before, so I read everything the internet had to offer. Slowly but surely, she came out of her shell. She's still a little shy and skiddish, but she tries very hard to be social with people. (Here's an image of her, it's too large to post. It's also a little old, since she's 1 now, but she's also become a little camera shy: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34...i/DSC01694.jpg)
My other little girl is NaminÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]. When I was little, I had a lynx point siamese cat that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, she was killed by coyotes near our house. But ever since, I've wanted another lynx point. I searched far and wide for a mix and finally found my beautiful little girl. When I first got her, she fit in the palm of my hand, just this little fluff ball (when I first brought her home: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34...e/DSC01893.jpg) and I was a little scared at how my semi feral cat would react to her. When I brought her home, I let Kairi sniff the carrier to figure out that there was something a lot like her inside. When she had finished sniffing, I opened the carrier and let NaminÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] decide when she was ready to come out. There was a little bit of hissing from Kairi (along with the look that said "Mom! How could you do this to me!") but NaminÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] came right out and charmed her right away. They became best buds and she's even helped to bring my Kairi out of her shell even more! (She started sleeping with us on top of the bed instead of under and actually comes out for "rubs" which consist of of Kairi trying to rub herself on your leg but gets spooked last minute and just rubs the air.) I never thought another kitten would be so helpful, but it has. For everyone.
So that's us in a very long winded nut shell
