Hello

I am new to th forum and i am owned by a very loving 2 year old black domestic shorthair.

He has taken to overgrooming the inside of his back legs and they are now nearly bald. I have checked for mites and there are none. He has been frontlined and wormed.

Any advice would be wonderful

Thank You

Julie

I had a cat who did this, she licked the inside of her legs and her belly until they were almost bald. It could be stress related, has anything changed in his routine lately?

Sounds stress related.

My sister in law has a cat who is notorious for licking her back end and tail till it's bald when she's super stressed.

no nothing has changed. I had thought maybe a scary cat was giving him hassle as he seems to want to stay in more and very reluctant to go out the back door at times.

Our cat also had a bit of a chronic problem with anal glands (the vet used to squeeze them every so often
) and she used to scootch across the floor on her butt (quite a site to see if you haven't witnessed it), I don't know if that was related to her licking but it could have been...
