And they wonder why I don't want to do this anymore.

This is the 2nd time in the last couple week that our HR director went into my bosses office to ask him a question about something that I do. My boss trusts me to do my job, so he preety much stays out of this stuff, but apparently the HR director doesn't feel I have a clue, or isn't comfortable talking to me. Basicly I set piece work rates, and one department is complaining. Which is not supprising because we just cut one rate big time last week. They were getting way over paid, but of coarse no one wants to see their pay change. The department manager & the factory manager were both aware of the change and approved. It's just so frustrating that I'm the person doing the work, but when there is a problem I'm not involved in the solution. I guess COMMUNICATION, was never their strong suit. Sometimes I feel like it is because I'm a woman. These are the days that make me even more positive of my decision to finish my masters in Counseling. OK, just had to vent about that, thanks for listening.

OK, and now for the kicker. The reason this question came up is apparently our H.R. department is putting together a training on how piece work rates are calculated. This is great because it needs to be done. The problem, no one has asked me any questions. Given I'm the person setting the rates, wouldn't it make sense to at least discuss with me how I do my own job. I just get so ticked off. I know it seems stupid, but I guess it all relates to the fact that they have never taken me seriously around here. Even when I was going to school for engineering. I guess since I'm nice & not a super butch woman, I have no idea what I'm talking about. GRRRRR

I can imagine how anoying not being consulted regarding the things you know best out of anyone else in the company is.

DO you happen to work for the Canadian Government because i'm sure they do this same thing... which in direct result gets absolutely ziltch done.

Good luck reasoning with the powers that be, just use small words and talk S-l-o-w-l-y
