If I had to guess, I think the problem is not enough hits/unique hits. I've had 2 eggs die but I never got the soft shell message which has to do with the ratio of clicks to hits. No one know the exact ratios necessary except the creator. If you look a my scroll though the ratio of clicks to hits is much smaller? I might have the backwards... what I'm trying to say is the I have more hits per click than you do.

My paper egg which is about to hatch is 1559/411/7 and the chicken which is also begining to hatch (yeah, it's been saved I think) has 204/83/10.
I have my first 2 eggs!
But haven't a clue what to do with them

I posted them in my siggy but I don't know what to do from here

Nothing really. You keep them in your siggy and eventually (with the right ratio) they will hatch then the hatchlings will grow into adults. Once they are adults they are self-sufficient so to speak. You can name them and if you have a male & female you can mate them. You can kill and freeze them too but I haven't done either. Although, I think the new rules regarding them is that you can only have one at a time in your siggy.
Even with only one in mine, my other eggs still get hits.

What does it mean when an egg has a crack in it?

I decided to try this again and rescued an egg that had 1.81 days to hatch. I posted the egg link on a very, very, very busy website and so far today it's generated 235 hits, 102 unique hits and 2 clicks

Anyway, now it has a crack in it. And it's not set to hatch for 1.92 days

It means it's going to hatch soon. The small crack will spread across the egg and eventually it will have a big hole in the middle. The hole is the last stage before it hatches.

Don't remove it from your high traffic forum just yet because it can still die.

There are no such things as dragons, unless you're talking about bearded dragons or (God forbid) Kimodo dragon...

You do have a good number of clicks with this one. Does this egg have a metallic sheen to it? If so you will have a silver dragon but you won't know whether it's male or female until it becomes an adult.

I have one of each. My first was a female.

Alycia, you need to switch your eggs out every other day. Actually the one you have in your sig now has a perfect number of hits to hatch.

Good, because you only have a day left and it really needs those hits. 7 clicks is perfect. You should do just fine with this egg.

It hatched!!!! Early according to the time that was showing before it hatched. It shouldn't have hatched for 1.7 days

The information shows:

Overall Views: 554

Unique Views: 203

Clicks: 7
\t
Hatched on: Mar 01, 2008
Hatchling will die if it doesn't grow up in: 6.99 days.

It hatched on my birthday!!!

For every 10 hits you get a unique hit and out of those someone is going to actually click on your egg out of curiosity which counts as a click.

All of my eggs hatched with less than 500 hits, 250 unique hits and 10 clicks.

My orange hatchling only has 4 clicks. The clicks aren't important it's the views that count.
If you look at my orange dragon "glitch" you will see he didn't get 1 unique veiw for every ten hits!! Not even close!

No, it looks like you received 2 unique hits for every hit. I may not have the exact science down but it should help those who are having trouble getting eggs to hatch. Which in your case, you don't need help.

I just got into this through this forum too. I think it's a cute concept, like playing Tamagotchi online.

Huh?? Glitch has 6953 hits and only 1247 unique hits! That doesn't equal out to be 2 unique hits does it?? I thought it equaled out to be like 1/2 unique hit per every 10 hits! I think that one was just stubborn because the rest of them all equal out to be 10hits/1 unique hit!

BTW~ I killed a ton of eggs!!
They just disapear after 2 weeks!

I have yet to kill a hatchling yet though!!

Linda, that's very cool that your first egg hatched on your b-day. It's discouraging when they die but fun when they hatch and trying to collect different ones. I have a baby chicken now! Along with my other hatchlings and I found a blue egg this morning.
