As some of you know We have been looking for a Burmese breeder, and we found a good breeder that is expecting a litter soon
Any way I have a question.
Again we are looking for a companion cat, But I'm afraid that when we get him I will over whelm him and he will think I'm a jerk, AND I'M FREAKING OUT ABOUT IT
I don't know why so paranoid about this. But I don't want to scare the little guy
Any way I'm just wondering If some one can give me a step by guide to interdouce him. To get him here we are going to Colorado by Plane, then coming back by car(About a 6 hour drive) All I'm asking is a guide of how to make the drive, and the first couple of days as comfortable for him as possible.
P.S. I think this is in the right Board....................

One thing I did when buying a cat from a far away breeder, was to sleep with something for a while (it was a snuggle kitty), and then I sent it to the breeder, so the kitten could get used to my scent. I think it worked pretty well; the first thing that happened when I picked him up at the airport was he smelled me and started purring!

If the kitten is well socialised and leaves mum at an appropriate age he'll probably adjust fairly quickly in my experience. Sending something that smells of you for him to get used to is a great idea though. I've found with kittens that they do cry for their mum a bit at first, especially that first night, but if they are raised well they aren't usually afraid to be somewhere new, and adjust much quicker than an adult.

When you get home he's likely to be tired from the journey, so put him in a quiet room where he can't get himself into trouble when he starts exploring, make sure it's already set up with a litter box, food, and water - use the same litter, type of box/tray, and food that he was used to at the breeder's - put the carrier in there, open the door, and let him come out in his own time. He's likely to want to rest for a while and take in his surroundings before emerging. I've always found it useful to use my bedroom for this as it's quieter than other areas of the house, there's a bed to safely hide under, and usually if they haven't emerged from the carrier before bedtime you are often woken shortly after going to sleep by a kitty exploring you! It's less worrying for them to explore you while you're lying down and quiet, and often they want to cuddle up to you.

On the other hand there are kittens like my Radar - we got him home, opened the carrier, and he shot out of it with a look of huge excitement on his face and charged around exploring and breaking things
It is more typical for them to be a little shy when first in a new home, but some do really just want to explore
