A couple of weekends ago, Hubby and I went in to get our taxes done. Everything was peachy keen and we got a nice refund and life was good. Fast forward to last Friday. We got a letter from our investment company dated Feb 8th (didn't arrive until Feb 22nd) and it was with a couple of updated tax forms (we had received tax forms from them in Jan which is why we went ahead and had our taxes done.) I am not kidding you, the letter (which was with the updated tax forms) said (paraphrased) Please don't get your taxes done yet, we will be sending you updated tax forms sometime in the middle of Feb.!!!!!!
We dropped the updated tax forms by the place that does our taxes to see if an amended tax return would have to be sent out and sure enough, we are going to have to re-do our taxes. If we end up having to repay some of our refund back to the government and pay more money for the tax people to have to amend our taxes, you'd better believe that the stupid investment company will be hearing from me!!!!!
