For the past week or so when ever I pet or brush Emmett around his back hips and his tail he tries to bite me. He doesn't look to be in pain. He's also acting normal in every other way. I don't know if he's aquired a ticklish area, or if he's hurt. As I said before he's still the same in every aspect. He doesn't limp, he runs around and plays. Purrs. I wondering if I should take him to the vet about this or I shouldn't worry. Any suggestions?

If you used to brush there and he didn't try to bite, then I'd say a trip to the vet is warranted. Whenever a cat changes its behavior is a time to go to the vet. They can be great at masking pain or discomfort, so that change in behavior is often the only signal that something may be wrong.

I don't know how old Emmet is, but maybe he's developing arthritis or who knows what. But it's always best to play it safe when it seems like kitty is trying to tell you something.
