Aches all over -- Update

Thanks to those who replied. Found out this morning that she has an anal gland abcess. Once the vet shaved her I was stunned to see the extent of her problem. He had just seen her on Saturday and didn't notice it himself. She's on antibiotics now and is already obviously improved. Am steeling myself for 2 weeks of pill giving. Guess it beats the alternative.

Easiest way to give pills. Kneel on the floor and cross your ankles behind you. Place the cat in middle of your knees so her back is to you. Gently scruff her neck and raise her head, open her mouth and insert the pill. Close her mouth, blow once at her nose (encourages her to swallow) She will back pedal against you trying to get away, but in this position she can't. Have a tasty treat ready for her afterward so she knows this is not *all bad stuff.* Use a pill gun too, those are the best! You can buy those at your vet for just a couple of dollars.

Wish I had known about the pill gun... I failed utterly at adminstering pills, and had to resort to hiding it in his canned food (fortunately, he wolfs it down so fast, he has no idea theres anything strange in it!).
