She has been gone now 4 months and she came home tonight!!! She is skinny and gaunt and looks very tired, but she let me close to her, I fed her and now she is asleep in the hay barn! I wish she could talk- so she could tell me where the hell she's been! But at least Squirrel and Taz have their mom back now!

hissy, you are an
. I seriously could not do what you do. I would just be all broken up over sick and disappearing kitties
. The world is definitely a better place because of people like you who look out for those who some less civilized humans would rather shoot than look at.

Thanks Lola,

With ferals, since they wander, I have had many vanish and come back. I had one gal, funnyface who is stryker and cleo's mom vanish for a year and a half! Then one night, I get an emergency call from a back street neighbor who had a cat that was really ill and could I come and see to her? I went over there and lo and behold, there was funny face! The old farmer had found her several months prior to calling me, and adopted her, named her Panda and made her his house kitty. She was really sick (blocked) and I took her to the vet the next morning where she got treatment. It was just really neat to see her after all this time. She was my first feral in Oregon, was here and pregnant when we moved in and had 8 kittens (all manx's)

I always worry when they vanish for awhile, but I just pray that God will keep them safe. Some of course, never come home again, but most of them do- eventually.

I didn't realize she was missing! But....I am so glad she is back and healthy! They do seem to have a radar that always brings them home.
