Losing fur on the front.........

My mum rang me last night to tell me Rupert is losing fur on her apron area. She had bled on that part of her fur a few weeks ago when her tooth fell out. Does anyone know why this is happening? I've warned my mother to take her to the vet but she can't get her in until friday.

I'd appreciate any thoughts............
