Do any of you have one. I didn't used to but certain things bother it now. Like, garlic and onion, orange juice, spaghetti sauce, coffee, Pepsi. I've been to the doc twice now for stomach issues. The first time he gave me some pills called Protonix. I felt better for a while but it eventually came back. I saw the doc again at the beginning of the month and he said it might be gastritis. They did blood work to check for H pylori which is a bacteria that can cause ulcers. That came back negative. Right now I'm keeping a food journal about what I eat and how my tummy feels afterward. Most the time the issues are a lot worse than minor stomach upset.

Do you have any issues with acid reflux? Sometimes I get that after eating certain foods (not always). Protonix is pretty good. I tale Prilosec on a regular basis.

Do you have any soreness or pain in the stomach?

Yeah, I seem to get heartburn often. I also have issues with bloating, feeling full after hardly eating anything and indigestion. On my recent visit the doc gave me Prevacid but I'm not taking it because I keep forgetting too.

Some of the things that can upset mt stomach and trigger my acid reflux are drinks with a lot of caffeine in them. Tomato sauce can be a bad one sometimes, especially if I eat it before going to bed. Chili will sometimes trigger it as well. Chocolate. Anything with a lot of acid in it.

Have you seen a gastroenterologist yet? I have ulcerative colitis to along with my reflux.

That is something you should be checked for also a hiatal hernia which is another cause of heartburn and upset stomach..

I have a small one and have to be careful eating anything acidic, I take Tagamat when I have problems with it and it works well. It is a similiar anti-acid product like Prilosec.

No my doctor hasn't referred me to one but maybe I should ask him to. There is a history of digestive tract problems in my family. My great grandmother had diverticulitis, my grandmother has colitis and my Mom has Chrons disease.

With that history, I would ask you doctor to refer you to a specialist. Hopefully you aren't developing any of those, but better safe than sorry. My husband has Chron's disease also and it can be nasty, as I'm sure you know.

It could also just be that you're getting older (how old are you, if you don't mind my asking). I had NO problem eating anything at any time of the day or night....until I was around 37. Then, coffee started bothering me. Pizza late at night gave me heartburn, so many foods that I loved started bothering me. I was taking an OTC heartburn but stopped for a while and that was a mistake. I started taking them again a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems.

It could just be your body changing, but I would definitely get it check out by a specialist.

I have an extremely sensitive stomach. I have acid reflux and IBS. It's extremely frustrating because it seems like I can never eat ANYTHING. Just when I think a certain food is "safe", I have a bad reaction to it the next time I eat it.

I'm 26. I've been having these problems for a couple of years now.
