Have you ever got upset after reading something, and miss understanding what the person really said? On paper or screenas here all you see is the words, not the tone of the persons voice.I think it happens more than you think!I know it has happened to me and I have missunderstoud what the person was trying to say.I have it happen here and on my MSN.people have to read more carefully, and not jump to the wrong impresserm[sp].

Yes, I'm very sarcastic, and am often mis-understood!

I often have to re-read things just to be sure!!!

i had a bit of a tiff with a guy on another board. but after a few posts we worked it out and actually could talk easier after that. i realized he's just sarcastic and not really a jerk and he didn't have to worry so much about offending me.

you learn and grow...

Movin' on up!
It seems that we've had a few misunderstandings, around here. Its hard to tell sarcasm, in print, unless you know the person pretty well. I, usually, try to put an emoticon in, so that noone will take me TOO seriously. I've been a smart@$$, for 45 years and I'm too old to change now!

I think it very easy for misunderstandings to develop on boards like this one and in chatrooms. I have found that emoticons are very helpful in preventing misunderstandings when they are used. I don't let myself get all upset over things I read, and I always try to remember that the words I see didn't suddenly appear all by themselves, they were written by another person.

Cindy, I just want to say I always enjoy reading your posts.

Cindy...my day would be waaaaaaayyyyyyy too boring without one of your funny, witty posts. I love them! Please don't change! Ever!

Lhezza, again....LOVE your posts! You are the best! You bring a smile to my face every time!

It's so hard to write the perfect thing every time without ruffling someone's feathers somewhere. We are all bound to slip up eventually. I have!
While people say not to read emotions in what is written, it is almost impossible to not do so. It's human nature and yes....some people may take offense to something you've written and most of the time, you are not even aware that you wrote anything offensive.

I've found that sometimes all it takes is just a simple apology and then it's over with. A misunderstanding is just that: a misunderstanding.

Now...when it is intentional.....well, then that's a whole different ball game!

So, the question is: Have I ever got upset? Not really. Unless, of course, it's directed at me and then, I handle the problem or....avoid it all together.

All in all, the good greatly outweighs the bad

I must of missed something (again)
But when things start getting to me, I just go to this woman's website and gain understanding.

I'm always sarcastic. That's why it's so important for me to always put the winking face after each of my posts.

I'm also just trying to tell people with the wink, that it's all in light humour.....don't get your shorts ruffled.
