Hello!
I was wondering if anyone uses any supplements for their show cats? If so, what do you use and what is it for?
I am trying to figure out if we should use any supplements for my brother's female Maine Coon who I will be showing.

If you are feeding a high quality canned and dry food, I don't think you really need supplements. The one I used to use a long time ago was Kitty Bloom and it was pretty good. I understand they are still making it. I may get a small jar of it and see if it makes any real difference with Charlie

It really depends on the condition of your cat. If your cat is already in great shape, I firmly believe that there's no need to supplement.

However, if there are coat issues (patchy, bald spots etc.) then there are various supplements to use, the easiest to find being brewers yeast.

Overly excitable cats can be supplemented with Vit B complex (which also helps the coat) which calms and also increases appetite.

I generally don't supplement - unless:

1. my cats are shedding and the show is around the corner
2. my entires are underweight

GoldenKitty - what does Kitty Bloom do? Is it better for SH cats? Let us know how it works out for Charlie!

I found Bailey's coat became much softer when I started giving him a bit more salmon in his diet. Maybe it's something about those Omega-3 fatty acids. . .
