I'm still in shock
my Little Dude is on a short course of antibiotics at the moment, a couple of hours ago I was getting ready to give him his tablet but, as it was supper time and he was snuffling around, before I wrapped him I just held it in my hand under his nose.... and he just ate it up!!!
In all my years of being owned by cats I've never had that happen
is he some sort of freak or I have I just been unlucky before with stubborn, non-tablet taking cats?

Pepper had been taking antibiotics for about a month, and she had to take it before she is allowed outside for her morning run around the yard. She stands on the table to get them, they are drops. Then she gets a treat an open door. Now she will stand on the table and wait for me to give them to her. She will not budge, even if the door is standing open. I have started giving her a few drops of water and her treat so she will go. They have all decided they no longer like using the litter box so they go out after breakfast and potty, come back in and go back to bed.

I think you got lucky!!!
With drops it isn't so difficult, imo, but with tablets, cats can be a bit 'difficult'...tehehe!

Cubby is pretty use to getting pilled. Rachel on the other hand is the sweetest cat but will fight if you try to pill her. Cubby just sits there and takes it, then he gets extra food for not trying to kill me.

You are extremely lucky. I do love using "Pill Pockets" though. Oreo-who is a witch to pill- adores the pill pocket. She thinks it is a treat and gulps it up.

I've never heard of them, I presume it does what it says in the name! - sounds good

My old Spider-cat was awful with tablets, what I used to do with her was crush the tablet in a little bit of butter then smear the mix on her leg, she'd just 'wash' it off like it was any old muck that had got on her

You're lucky. My Forest will actually eat tablets, too, if I put them in his food, but he's a freak too.

Here is a link that explains "pill pockets" http://www.24hourpet.com/pill-pockets-c-123.html It is basically a kitty treat that you put the pill into.

OMG!!

That is so smart. I'll have to remember that one. My cats are demons when it comes to medicine. They run and hide if they see anything that resembles a dropper.
