Ya learn something new every day!

I am kinda ashamed to admit this!!!

I DID not know birds can lay eggs with out, well, you know!!!

My friend just sent me a text and said "umm my bird(she has a cockatiel, and thought it was a male lol) just layed 3 eggs!!! I was like whoah, ok! LOL!!

I got to asking DH and he explained to me why they do that!

Goes to show, you do learn something new every day!!

Don't worry, you're not alone. Ok, I know chickens lay eggs daily...but I'm still not sure how they get fertilized. Because the eggs we get don't normally have baby chicks in them (although we have gotten a few from farm eggs). But...how do they do it?

All I can say is I'm glad I'm not a chicken. That would be like giving birth every day!

I didn't know other birds laid eggs without being fertilized first. Yeah, you DO learn something every day.

Yeah they can, but don't worry..even some bird owners don't know that.

An old friend of mine had two love birds that had eggs many times but they were never fertilized... I think the male had a problem. (J/K guys!) Apparently they didn't take care of the egg afterwards, like keeping it warm and such.
