I have been giving my cat Gwenny probiotics and enzymes but am wondering if I am giving the right kind and amount. This is what I have been mixing for a 10 day supply:

10 capsules of Cosequin
3 capsules of Pro-Biotics Acidopilus
2 capsules of GNC Multi-Enzyme Formula

I add this to Gwenny's food 3 times a day over a 10 day period--the amount is about the size of a pea. I have just been guesstimating this amount--does this seem reasonable? I haven't seen any real benefit. I have considered giving some of the pet enzyme/probiotics combos, but most seem to have additives to increase palatability and she is on a limited ingredient diet right now. Would one of these pet products be okay on a limited ingredient diet?

Thanks for your advice and expertise.

I use Eagle Pack Holistic Solution which contains prebiotics, probiotics and enzymes. I give her 1/8 teaspoon with every meal.

I would think the tiny bit of chicken flavoring included in the HS wouldn't hurt on such a diet unless maybe if she is allergic to chicken. It also has "stabilized rice bran" as the first ingredient.

BTW - The GNC Multi-Enzyme Formula contains wheat and milk and rice bran. Are these not a concern given her limited ingredient diet?

Oops--thanks for pointing that out, I didn't even think to look!
