Breeding program literature?

Thread Starter
I breed Oriental Longhairs and am planning on starting a new breeding program with crosses to Javi and Oriental Shorthairs. What I have been looking for is some books with advice on this type of outcrossing, generation selection, etc. I know of the current genetics books and will be getting those, but I have yet to see any on actual outcross breeding programs. Any suggestions?

Hi, and thanks for posting. I can contact a few of the breeders I know and see if they have any suggestions regarding reference materials for outcrossing.

And...if in your travels, you find some on your own, please don't hesitate to post them here. I am always interested in reading this type of thing, and would love to have a personal library on it myself!

Again, thanks for posting - best of luck in your program.

Just in case you're still looking for the more general stuff - have a look at our shop on this page:

I know that the Robinson book is quite popular among breeders. I plan to buy it soon myself so I can give it a proper review.
