I finally just went for it and ordered an imac. I'm out $1400
, but I'm so excited for it to arrive at my door! I consider it a career move, though
. I'm a fine arts major about to graduate and I have used only macs in the studio since I started school. For designers, macs are just more appropriate. Anyway, I'll still use my toshiba laptop, but I definitely prefer the mac operating system. Anyone else get a new computer recently?

No, but as an avid reader of Consumer Reports for the last 20+ years I can tell you the Mac is always rated the highest in performance, consumer satisfaction, and customer support. I wish I had one!

I love my mac - I'm thinking about getting a ModBook though....it has the Mac OS platform.

I have all good things to say about Mac. Even the service - especially the service GET THE EXTENDED APPLE CARE WARRANTY. I'm on my third logic board.

I bought a Toshiba Satellite a few weeks ago running Windows Vista, for the sole purpose of being able to use the same applications that I have at work

But on my own time, I have a HP Slimline loaded with Linux Mint 4.0, and an older Toshiba laptop running Ubuntu Linux 7.10. My only Mac is a 2 year old Mac Mini that I really like, it has found itself integrated into my home entertainment center

What do you need to know how to do?

I have a MacBook Pro that I got in December, and before that I had a Powerbook that lasted me a good 5 years maybe? It got seriously knocked around as well... I am definitely a Mac convert.

I had to put Windows on the Mac for university (particular software required Windows), and even doing that was sooooo easy, and booting between them is incredibly easy.
