I have a mother cat and her 3 offspring, 2 girls and a boy. Adopted a rescued cat about 8 mos after the litter was born. The rescued cat and the boy were sweeties. The rescued cat got very ill last month and is well but suffered some brain damage I suspect. She is eating, purring and living life. Now, all the cats reject her and the boy cat who was a home body is rarely home. He comes to eat and leaves. What's up with this?? What can I do to intergrate them all???

One of my cats was really mean to my cat who had cancer.

We used:
Feliway diffuser (until we had problems with the unit itself)
Rescue Remedy in their water
Squirt bottle (to stop the aggressor)

And when it was particularly bad, we separated the cats during the day (or anytime we were gone) so the sick one could rest.

Cats smell different when they are ill and the others may not recognise her as the same cat. It may take some time to integrate her again. As for your boy, is he neutered? If not, he is doing what all male cats do in February - spending all his time and energy in the hunt for females and protection of his territory.
