If you were to donate 5,000 points to the KatKwiz bank today, the cats could award an additional_________ points over the course of the next year (starting today).



As always, when we have a math quiz, I do expect different answers. So, if you see other answers, don't be afraid to give your own! (Please just fill in the blank, do not explain your answer.)


Note: I am having minor surgery this morning but expect to be up and around this afternoon. If I am not, I will award the points when I am. Should there be no (unlikely) Saturday KatKwiz, the points will double the next day, etc.

There would be a lot of variables with this question. Would you be paid interest before or after the donation (today or tomorrow)-- would there be a winner every day etc.. but without taking those into consideration I would agree with Glitch.

Believe it or not, I am out of surgery, back home, in a cast and ready to do battle.

There are no variables to consider in this puzzle and there are no correct answers yet.
There is no interest to consider, "could" means that there would be a winner every day. 1 1/2 hours left!!!

I am going to be a good guy and give a hint, read it and then GO. I will be back after I rest my foot a couple hours or so. HERE IS THE BIG HINT.

What is different about this year?

And that would have been the correct answer 3 out of 4 years!
I really do feel bad about this because I knew this would happen but I thought somebody would get it. Here is my answer:

According to the KatKwiz rules, winners receive 1% of the bank account every day.
So, additional donations of any amount add to the bank total, of which, 1% is paid out. This means a donation of 5000 points X 1% would give 50 extra points a day. But there is something different amount this month and year. So the math becomes 50 X 366 instead of 50 X 365. 18,300 is thus the correct answer. There can be no doubt as to what year I was talking about because I said from today.

You may point out there was no winner today but the question reads could the cats give away (if there was a winner every day). However, the points remain in the bank which you could if you were so inclined, figure out how many more thousands of points could be given away during the next year because of this
.

Well, now that the drugs are wearing off I see that you snuck in the correct answer with just two minutes to go! Are you really sure you want to win? Think of this, if you didn't win the 3647 points, that's 13,348 more points you could have won in the coming year!
Congratulations, I gave detailed info on the answer earlier and I just discovered while I was writing that, you were writing this. Amazing!
