Worried about my kitty

Ok I need someone to tell me what is going on with my poor Smokey...I was brushing him and found some small whiteish specs (?) (like very small pieces of rice) under his tail.

I have no idea what it might be. He never goes outside, but I do have an outside cat that I have been letting in to eat b/c it has been soooo cold.

Could he have given him something? If so, does anyone know what it might be?

If these specs have substance, and are not dander- but almost like small brown rice kernels than Kitty has worms- tapeworms to be exact and needs a trip to the vet and some medicine from the vet called drontal.

If it is just white flaky specs, it could just be dander...

I think that they look like sesame seeds. Can I get the tapeworm from him????

Yep, sounds like tapes to me. I would treat her also with a spot on flea treatment as well. Just wash your litter pan out well, keep it scooped and follow good hygiene and you will be fine. Get her in to be seen as soon as you can.

Thanks a lot. We went to the vet today, and eveything is well. He doesn't have fleas, but the vet said he could have been infected this past fall, when we did have a flea problem.
