I was given a prescription the other day for a stomach bacteria that I apparently have. Anyways, I had to take 8 pills a day, on top of my celexa and birth control. I was really dizzy the first day (so bad that I couldn't walk around). I just thought that maybe it was some side effects from the pills, and I figured it would go away by the next day.
When I woke up in the morning, I felt fine. The whole day I was completely normal until about 10 at night. All of a sudden I couldn't breath very well, I started vomiting like crazy, I was shaking, and I felt like I was completely drugged. I couldn't talk, or move or do anything. After I had thrown up 15 times in a half hour, my hubby took me into the emergency. ( I threw up 3 times just on the way to the hospital) I seriously thought I was going to die. I was trying so hard to keep consious because I was afraid that it I passed out, I wouldn't wake back up.
When I got there, they took me right it. It was really freaky. I had no idea where I was and I couldn't answer any of their questions. They kept asking me if I knew where I was, but all I knew was that I was in a strange room and didn't know how I got there.
Anyways, they gave me some gravol and I started to feel a little better after an hour or so. They did some tests and ex-rays and found out what the problem was.
For the last few months I've been having problems with stomach pain and dizziness. The doctor didn't know what was causing it though. Anyways, what had happened was that my digestive system was blocked and had started to shut down. All of the pills that I had been taking for the last few days (16 antibiotics and 2 antidepressents) had been sitting in my stomach and my body just kept absorbing them. They said that I had pretty much almost OD'd on my medication.
They gave me a bunch of stuff to take and drink and sent me home for the time being. If it doesn't get better though, I'm going to have to go back in.
I'm so scared to take any medications now. I stopped taking the antibiotics for the time being.
I'm also so thirsty cause no matter how much water I drink, it just sits in my stomach and very little gets absorbed.
So that was my fun 'near death' experience. I hope I never have to go through something like that again. All I could think about the whole time was what would happen to the baby, and the animals, if I died.
