Since last night, they have both been hiding in little places. Sparkle is under the bed and Lily has been opening cabinets and going into them. Both of them are not acting like themselves. They just had their annual checkups three weeks ago and they are fine physically.

There's a lunar eclipse tonight, could that have something to do with it? I keep thinking we are going to have a big earthquake or something, yikes!

Anyone have an idea they are acting like this?

Could have something to do with the eclipse... last time we had one, all of the animals acted strangely for awhile the closer it got to evening. So far they're all acting normal this time, but we'll see how they do later.

Pepper doesn't seem to be affected by the eclipse, but the other night she heard thunder for the first time and got really upset. Maybe there is a big storm coming??

I would say Earthquake. Mine act strange then a Quake hits. Also 5 Days before and 5 Days after a eclipse Earthquakes hit alot more. I was in the Oct 17th Loma Prieta quake 7.1 and alot of other Quakes.

I though it was just my cats. They have been driving me nuts the past few days. I blame it on the eclipse. I'm hoping Spaz will calm down a little since we have a vet visit in the morning.

My cats are still acting ok, but the dogs are starting to go a little crazy... especially Thunder. He always acts up before storms, and on the full moon, it's twice as bad tonight with the full moon AND the eclipse.

I am geussing perhaps it was the eclipse...considering strange things (naturally) can happen surrounding these events...makes me greatful I don't live near 'earthquake' land...

Hope your kitties are all getting back to normal...I think all mine slept through the eclipse; so i guess things are going to be fine here in MN after that event!

It's entirely possible they are hearing something either in the house or outside that is upsetting them, but you can't hear it. It might be as simple as some new machine, or possibly a bearing going out on your refrigerator motor, or some such thing. Or it could be an animal outside that they hear.

Cats have phenomenal hearing, as you probably know, and can hear things that even dogs don't hear.

A lot of times, cats want to up high when they feel little quakes we can't feel. Their paws are very sensitive.

Mine had no reaction at all during the eclispe....
