As I've posted before I'm looking for a placement for the required 700 hours I need for my masters. Well yesterday I thought I was making real progress. I did make an appointment with one place for an interview for next week (
hopefully they will like me & I will like them), then I was talking to another place that I know I would love to work. The only problem is the majority of the hours would be group work, which I don't mind, but apparently when the daprtment head said 40% has to be face to face. I can't get a clear answer from her about how much has to be individual vs group. I have talked to other people who have felt that she was changing the rules on them all the time. I've never experienced it before, but now I know what they mean. I'm just frustrated. I'm going to e-mail her for clarification, and keep looking if this place doesn't work out, but I just want to have this done. I don't have all kinds of extra time to be calling and interviewing.

If you're already getting heads up about a boss that keeps changing her mind, I wouldn't put that on the top of my list.

What happens if she changes her mind 350 hrs into the work you've done and says "Well you can continue to work here, but I can't sign off for your requirement for your masters"

Sorry, but that's a HUGE red flag for a job right there.

Good luck with the one next week thought
I'm sure you'll do great!

I agree the problem is she is the department head at school, and we have to get our hours past her. There is no one else to go through, so I'm just going to do my best to work with her and be open. I try to remain open with the people in our department at school because they tend to be overcommited. While that is a pain, I'm looking at school as a means to an end. I've got my 2 classes this semester and then 700 hours of site placement to get through. I can do this, I'm just frustrated that the department head does nothing to help us find a placement and I'm having a hard time.
