Raven is 6 pounds and Jack is 4.6 pounds. I feed them 2/3 cup of dry food every day. (I no longer supplement with wet). Is that enough food? I feed them in the evening and most evenings there is only crumbs left if anything.

I provide dry all day for my 2 year olds to snack on, and give them one can of wet mixed with more dry in the evenings, the wet is usually gone by morning, leaving a bit of dry behind. They turn their noses up at the dry food alone for the most part, only coming back to it a little at a time as they get hungry. My cats are approximately the same size as raven and jack, and are both in good shape, active (for indoor cats!) and athletic, although they do both have a bit of that post-neutering paunch. This feeding schedule has been working out for me and they seem to be sated. They *gently* remind me (aka "dad. dad. dad. we're hungry. dad. dad.") every night that it's about time to crack out the can opener, but never seem to be wanting for food, nor do they seem to be overeating. Unlike dogs I've had in the past, my cats seem to know when enough is enough.

Here is what I do, and many people here take exception to this but it works so very well for me and my two cats are very healthy and of proper weight:

I free feed them with dry food only. They have food available 24/7. Alley will eat nothing else but Persi begs me for food at dinner time and I give a little chicken or something from the dinner table. This is my fault that he begs. Had I never given him treats in the first place, he, like Alley, would have been very satisfied with just the dry food 24/7. I keep their food in a large tray with water bowls all around. I weigh them with baby scales once a week to make sure they are not gaining weight and they do not.
