Hi...

Just signed up and thought I'd say hello to all. I've been looking over the site and it has lots of great stuff, so here I am.

Originally from Nova Scotia, I live in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. My husband and I have two dogs who live outdoors and we've been owned for the last 3 years by a black tom named MacBeth. This winter we started taking care of a fluffy orange kitty who we know was turfed out of his home 2 years ago by his owners. They own a large farm in the area and get rid of animals when they aren't convenient (or cute) anymore. We knew this guy when he was a kitten and he's managed to find his way home from wherever he got dumped - so he deserves some decent care and love. He's filling out now and we plan to take him to the vet when he gets more comfortable so we can make sure he stays healthy.

We've gotten a lot of experience in caring for strays and ferals both canine and feline - we seem to have a smell or something that causes them to come to our door, two or three a year! We have managed to find homes for all so far but it's getting weird. Does anyone else have this happen or know why?

Welcome to TCS! Thank you for taking care of homeless animals.

I also get alot of strays and ferals. Especailly when its cold out. I think all animal lovers have an invisible sign animals can see that says Suckers live here! on their doors.

All of us pet lovers, I believe, have pheromones that makes pets like us. My own unscientific theory is that we pet lovers have an invisible sign on our foreheads that flashes "sucker" that only our pets can read. Welcome to the wonderful site for all of us "suckers," er, pet lovers out there.

Hi...

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Guess what, after all that about the "sign" on my forehead - went over to the farm next door last night to get water for the furry kids and one of the highly neglected "farm cats", a little black guy almost twin to our MacBeth followed us the mile walk home. So... We gave him some niblets, popped him in the car for the night as there was an owl hooting close by and he followed us around all morning as we went about our chores! We took him back there when we were done 'cause we know someone is feeding him there, or so we were told. But we'll keep an eye on him. He seems to be about 8 months, maybe a little Siamese in him as he's got a slight build and an Applehead face.

EGC, the fluffy ginger feral, has been missing for two nights now and we're getting a little concerned. But it is spring...

So I look forward to chatting with my new Clowder! Sunny days to all, when I can get some pics to remote host I'll put them up.
