Hi Misty has been biting little chunks of hair out of her lower body, have any of you had this problem and do you know what causes them to do that. Otherwise she is fine. Thanks...
Our Maggie did that once.
She would just rip huge clumps of hair out back by her tail.
We took her to the Vet and it turned out that her anal gland needed expressed.
After it was done the hair pulling stopped.
Hair pulling can happen for a variety of reasons - fleas, food allergies, environmental allergies and stress. It's really best to go to your vet so he can pinpoint the cause.
My Abby is also a fur puller due to allergies and stress. We've just gone through a rough patch with that, but seem to have it back under control a bit again.
Thank you, I will be taking her to the vet soon as my tax money comes thru. If this was a serious illness I would bring her in immediately and just use my credit card but she is doing fine otherwise, thanks again for your input.
Hmm, haven't changed her food at all and I don't see why she would be stressed since nothing has changed here at home. She just turned 15 years old this month so I do worry about everything, a vet visit is definitely in order tho. Thank you.
My almost 16 year old Cat has done it too.
Last time I went to the Vet and she saw her Cocos back legs. She chewed them both Raw. she is Allergic to alot and gets Rashes too.
Your Cat is close in age to her.
Coco has pulled alot of fur out at othertimes too.
