How fast am I going??

Well, how should I know, my speedometer is not working in my car

Thankfully I just drive around town normally. I think its the sloppy rainy weather thats causing it to act up.. It was intermittently working today..so hopefully when the weather is back to normal it will be fine.

I'll hate to have to sink more money into this car already. I just got it in June!

Ack.

This weather sucks too.

and yeah.. we just got a 'new' car 3 weeks ago. It's a used 97 jeep... in good condition.. but already sunk $1300 into it to fix it.. not including the $$$ it cost to buy it. Better not need anything else, because I'm tapped out.

i would follow the car in front of you and try to keep up *smile* (I know, dumb idea)
I heard that if you can count to 4 between the telephone poles you are going at about 80 km/h... but don't quite me on that

I suggest getting your speedometer fixed as soon as possible

You'll know you're going to fast when a cop pulls you over!

(Like my theory? )

Then I'll be like "Ummmm Nat told me to do it..."

He'll be like "you ARE Nat"

Then I'll say..."no no, the other Nat"

And he will just think I am too crazy and let me go

Imagine explaining who the other Nat is and how you know her

Well, you can always say that Nat and you are always on TCS, so you didn't have time to fix the speedometer.

Seriously, get it fixed. Some cop may be having a real bad day.

DH says if it only acts up when it's rainy/sloppy, it's probably not the speedometer but the cable that connects it. You should be able to get that checked without spending a lot. Do you know someone car savy enough to trace the cable to see where it needs to be replaced?

You all are cracking me up!!

Good luck and hopefully the speedometer isn't too much money to fix.

Either that or he will fit you in a nice white jacket and send you to "the special place" for a visit.

Nine times out of ten the speedo is electically triggered. A cable runs from the inside dash down to the side of the gearbox. Two plugs on the end of the cable are attached to the sender unit. Either pulling off the connectors and sliding them back on a few times will sort out a gummed up connection, or if the sender unit is faulty then a replacement one should not break the bank.

Yeah I am not too worried about it. I think its electrical and this weather is mucking it up. I will get it checked out if it persists..I have my own special mechanic (thankfully).

Hey, if all else fails, pour pepsi on it! It works for batteries, right?

(Ummm...you do know to not take me seriously? Unless I'm right of course! )

I saw somebody once pouring pepsi on a gravestone, when I asked him why, he replied the advert says Come Alive With Pepsi!!

And I also know how to get a peanut out of your ear.
Pour chocolate on it.
It comes out a Treat
