does he think that you are a slave rather than an employee. If it was not discussed several days in advance about working on the weekend and you are not an "on call" employee there is absolutely no reason for your boss to call you at home on the weekend other than to tell you that the building burnt down and you don't need to go to work on monday.

I would report him to his supervisor on monday If it were me. That would freek me out.

That was something I loved about the ob unit I worked on, we had an on call anesthesiologist on the unit, and all of us were trained to function as scrub nurse or circulating nurse.

I did many a stat c-section.

I wouldn't have answered it either. I don't even look at my phones anymore, I have ring tones that tell me who you are. Unless you are really on call as a part of your job there is no reason why the boss should harass you with only a few minutes notice to come in on your time off. Does the boss even know how stupid that message sounds, "I thought you would want to come in on Sunday on no notice, I called you 7 times, um...don't you want to clean my desk.....?"

Oh he threw a fit one day when I told him I have cats and dogs! He was like "How do you deal with all that chaos and hair?" He even made comments about me having cat/dog hair on my clothes

He owns a bunch of townhouses and has a strict "no pet policy" no cats, dogs, birds, fish.... nothing

And he still didn't organize his desk

Get this, he's on the phone with the phone/cable company and is arguing with them because he's paying $3.00 more in taxes on thier service then they told him he would when he signed up. He told them to shut it off!!!! So come the 22nd, the internet and phones will be shut off
