Cleaning boogers from kitty's nose?

So I know this isn't the most pleasant topic, but my kitty Oliver has over the past few months been getting boogers in his nose --dark, right at the front where I can almost clean them out. Other than this he is fine--no sneezing or discharge. I want to clean them out but he absolutely will not let me touch his nose, even with my husband holding him. Should I just leave him alone?? My husband reminds me that they don't have anyone to clean their noses in the wild but I can't help but think this impedes his nasal passages somewhat.

it probably doesn't bother him, but if u want to do it just scruff him and lift his front paws off the floor or table or whatever he is on. Wipe quickly and let the cat go.

Have you tried when he's sleeping or drowsy?
