I was noticing that cats are not visiting cat house during the night as much. I was wondering why….
Then noticed them visiting more during the day time!! That is good news. They feel secure enough to come over during the day.

I also noticed Puff, the daddy cat is part of the clan now. I saw Torako and Puff (we are calling daddy cat Puff because his cheeks are puffed up. ) together. I saw Torako and Torao with Puff this morning.
I guess Puff is feral. His fur looks little dirty. For that, he is not skinny. Maybe there is another feeding station near by???

Here is picture of Puff

I hope all cats come to me some day when I call them. Torako always comes if she is near by.

Puff Daddy is so very cute! His kittens look a lot like him. Are you thinking of trapping him and getting him neutered?

What a weekend! It was 85 degrees just last Saturday and we had snowing this Saturday.
Torako had Fancy Feast for lunch, but I missed her for dinner. I guess she was around but quickly run away from my yard. Why??? Because our neighbor had friends over and one of their dog was wondering around in my yard!!!
I hate it when they do that. I don't really like my neighbor. He is a single guy and often invites bunch of guy friends or relatives to come over. I don't enjoy the sight of bunch of guys smoking at their small deck.
We have fence surrounding his and my yard, but nothing in between. I want the fence between them and us.

I have been thinking about trapping Puff but he needs to come more often on schedule. Right now, he don't come everyday. It would be tough to just catch one of them. I have a feeling Trako will end up in the trap and won't be able to catch Puff at all...

Whenever Puff comes, he is accompanied by both Torao and Torako.
He comes once a day either during day or evening.
Is Puff really a "he"? I tried to look at his rear end last night, but was not able to see good look of "his" part. Either way, I need to catch Puff someday. Best scenario would be to tame him enough to pick him up.
I don't fee urgency since all cats around me are all fixed.
I would know new comer since I am monitoring them very closely.
His fur is looking nicer than before. When I first saw him, his fur looked all scruffy.

I remember Kone's fur becoming silky smooth after few months.
It must be the food! I have noticed many cats in the shelter having scruffy looking fur.

Kits show multiple times at night and at least once a day.
Torako seems to be hanging around more.
This morning, we saw her in the yard while we ate breakfast.
We opened the door and called. Then she came right down to the patio.
We did the same in the evening and she came right way.
It's so nice to have her come when I call.
Torao and Trami run whenever they hear the door unlock.
They may never change, but I have to accept them the way they are.
I should be thankful that Torako is friendly.
I am switching to Costco brand food from Iams because I saw a post about Iams not being worth the money.
I mixed both together and cat seems to like Costco one better!

Cats have been eating less these days. I wonder Costco food is more filling than IAMS??
For 2 days in row, I ended up coming home after Torako's initial arrival.
When no one is home, she eats dry food. I then came home 30 ~ 1 hour later to give her wet food. She came both times but only ate 1/3 of it.
Dry food inside cat house is eaten less than before. But all kits are coming during the night.
I wonder they don't really care for Costco food??? Or, Costco food is more filling.
Tonight, I am leaving 2 bowls of two different kinds. I will see which one cats really prefers. One thing is that since Costco kibbles are much smaller than IAMS, it may just look like they are eating less.
Have any of you experience this kind of observation before? When you switch food, cats eat less although they are satisfied.

Here is Torako waiting for her Fancy Feast!

I gave them fresh pot of catnip, but they didn't pay much attention.
Torao seems to like it most. Torako ate some.

Thank you so much for posting the photos. Your cats are so adorable.

I have definitely noticed a difference in their coats based on the food that they are fed. My daughter always bought the least expensive food for her cats. Then one of her two cats got very fat and she started researching what to feed him so that he would lose weight. She ended up getting a more expensive food. Right away her boy lost weight AND his coat got so beautiful.

I bought some of the food for my cats and they got beautiful, too. The most amazing part to me was how fast it was. It took less than a week to start seeing a difference.

I saw Torao around 6PM. So, I called him gently and opened the door.
Ofcourse he run away. But I kept doing "Tora, Tora" call and Torako showed up.
Torao is peeking, but he is too scared to come out.
Torako is digging in to Fancy Feast. Torao really wants to come out, but too scared.
Then he started to do "I am here" meow. Torako looked toward his direction, but kept eating.
So, I closed the door. When Torako was about done, Torao finally came to the porch and ate the left over.

I was so glad to see him come by like that. It seems like Torao feels more secure when he is with another cat. I remember him stuck to Konne whenever he came out.

Costco food is cat's favorite and it requires less amount. I have compared feeding chart and ingredient between Costco Kirkland food and IAMS original. IAMS has a lot of corn while Costco has brown rice. Costco has better ingredient than IAMS but IAMS is twice as expensive!! I have one more bag of IAMS left, but after that one is done, I am switching to 100% Costco. I have read few people mentioning about this fact on this board, too. Just because it costs more does not mean it's better.

Thursday is my daughter's piano lesson. So we came home little later. I quickly checked cat cam footage to see if cat has been out there yet.
Sure enough! Both Torao and Torako were out wondering around by the porch 30min ago.
I opened the door and called out. Torako showed up right away. I am pretty sure Torao is out there watching. I put 2 cans of Fancy Feast. Torako ate half and walked away. While I wasn't watching, dish was licked clean. Torao must have been the one who finished it off.

I hope Torami will come like this someday.

Urrgh! Our neighbor's visitor dog is using my yard as playfield again!! He was even drinking from cat fountain!!
Thankfully, we agreed to put the fence up between us. We will get estimate done on 12th.

It was nice day and we decided to have ice cream in the patio. I opened the door and Torako run away!! I gently called her and she came out. I put Fancy Feast.
After she was finished, she hang around in the yard for a while. I opened the can of Atlantic salmon (human food) to make sandwich. Then mysteriously Torako came by the screen door and sat down. Did she smell Salmon???? I gave a little piece and she ate.
It's so nice to see Torako interact with us like that! What a joy.

We have new addition to our family! We have adopted a gray cat from county shelter. We named him Leo.
He is suffering from cold and congested. At one point, he was having bloody mucus.
After vet gave him different antibacterial, he has been having diarrhea. I am sure he would have been euthanized if I didn't rescue him. Adoption fee from our county shelter is only $5 it's because they haven't done any check or care for the animal. I know a person who volunteers at county shelter and he said they even don't check animals for Leukemia or FIV. I wonder if I should demand these tests on the next visit…..

Here is the picture of Leo.
He is not a pure Russian Blue..... But my husband doesn't care at this point.

Urrgh! Mr. Scar is back!
I have been leaving food outside at my porch during the day.
I usually add Torako's left over on top of it and put it in the cat house before I go to bed.
Last night, when I came down stairs, food bowl was nearly empty. It had quite bit of food left before I went upstairs.
I had bad feeling about that…. Sure enough, it was Mr. Scar.
He hasn't made it inside of cat house and I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think he will be able to. (crossing my fingers)
But he definitely knows where the food is. He stayed around and tried to find the way in.
He is very determined guy.

Torako came to the patio this morning, so I opened the door and gave her a little bit of Fancy Feast.
My daughter told me that she thinks Torako sometimes comes to check us out.
I only put 1/3 of can, but she didn't finish it.
I think Torako is spending most of her time in my yard… She is so cute!!!

Both Leo and Torako are about same age. But Leo is very tiny compared to her.
I hope Leo's diarrhea gets better. His body may not agree with penicillin base Antibiotic.
I may have to take him back to vet.

Leo is very cute. It's interesting that now your husband has a cat that he likes!

It's a good idea to get her tested for infectious diseases. I hope the antibiotic works for him and the diarrhea clears up soon. My little gray and white cat, Graycie, has always gotten that problem from antibiotics, but it clears up after the treatment is ended.

I don't think he really likes Leo, but he is accepting the fact that Leo is part of our family now.

It seems like Leo was trained not to jump on top of counters.
He only claws on the scratch post, too.
My husband's idea of "cat" was 4 ferals. He is now starting to see how different pet cat can be.
He was really afraid of cat jumping up on the counter and clawing his furniture.

First encounter of Leo and Torako went well!!
Yesterday, I called Torako for Fancy Feast and while she was eating , I brought Leo out.
They sniffed each other through screen door.
Leo seems to want to play with Torako, but she kept eating and walked away when she was done.
Until Leo's cold is completely gone, I can't let him out. Even then, I am only letting him out on leash.
He could have been indoor - Outdoor cat, but we have no way of knowing since there was no information about him.

This morning, my daughter felt the presence of Torako in the yard.
She said she kept calling her in her mind and then, Torako came out of juniper den running toward patio door!!
I gave her little bit of Fancy Feast.
I hope she is setting in to my yard. I don't mind letting her in to my house in the winter, but I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think she would like that….

While Torako was eating I let Leo see her again.
Leo was acting like finally getting together with long lost mother. He seems to love other cats.
Torako was interested, too. She came closer to sniff him.
I hope they can play together some day.
Leo still has sniffles. Once his cold is completely gone, I will let him out on leash.

We have a new raccoon visiting. I thought Mr. Scar was back but it's different one now.
While we were by the siding door last night, raccoon came.
My daughter and I had very good look at him. That was not Mr. Scar.
He looked smaller and didn't have scar on his back. His tail was thinner.
We named him Junior.

My husband expressed his feeling yesterday…. He feels left out and sad.
My daughter and I are all excited and have fun with cat related things, but he has no interest.
Maybe I am neglecting him too much???
I told him that I can give up if that's what he wants, but he said no….
He thinks I am just obsessed with my cats. He is afraid I am becoming a crazy cat lady.

Torako was waiting for us as we walked in to the house. She is so cute!!
As I was getting Fancy Feast, My daughter brought Leo down stairs.
Torako lay down there and rolled a little relaxed.
When Torako was done, I let Leo out while I was holding on to him.
Torako came and sniffed. She hang around there much later.
Leo is still sneezing and I have to be careful not to spread his cold to outdoor cats.

While I was doing yard work in the evening, I managed to step on neighbor's doggy poop!!
I can't wait to have fence between us.

Leo is one cutie pie. How does your husband like him so far?
I love your photos. I need to get an easier camera to use.

The ferals are beautiful too.

I am glad you enjoy my pictures!
My husband will never admit it but I think he is opening up his heart to Leo.
Leo is very well mannered cat. He never attempts to jump on counters. I think he was trained not to jump on places where humans don't sit.
I had to teach him to go up on top of cabinet in his room. I intentionally placed storage cabinet there so cat can sit and watch outside from the window.
He only meows laud when my outdoor kitties show up. He will keep doing "I am here! I am your friend!" meow.
I think he still gets little annoyed seeing my daughter and I being excited to see cats in some action.

Last night, both Torako and Torao showed up. So I decided to let Leo smell them. Then, Torako took off and Leo got out of the house!!!
My heart stopped and my head was filled with thoughts of him running over by a car!!!
I run out to my yard quickly and Torako and Torao run up to the bush. Then Leo rushed back to the house.
I must buy harness soon. And I must be more strict about this. Leo is still sneezing. I can't let my outdoor kitties catch cold.
While Leo was out, both Torao and Torako had good sniff out of him. They are accepting Leo as friend.

We found dead mouse in the bush. I am glad they are still hunting mouse for us. I think they stopped bringing prey to the patio after seeing raccoon eating them all. As I learned from my Animal communication work shop, I put energy barrier around my yard to repel raccoon. I haven't seen it sine I did that.
