Can anyone tell me how to find a vet that has experience with feline asthma? I live in Connecticut and my cat appears to have all the signs but none of the vets I have seen know much about it and I seem to be going around in circles so I thought I would try asking for advice.

Thanks for any help you can give - I am getting worried about my little guy.

My Cat has Asthma that gets very bad sometimes but my Vet know alot. You can research online. I can help you if you want. Coco has hd Asthma for years. How does your Cat act? He should get a Xray to confirm its Asthma. My old Vet years ago told me Coco prob had Bronchitis but he never took a Xray. Then in 2005 Coco was very Sick and the idiot Vet here told me her heart was tilted and she had Cancer. We went for a 2nd opinion to the Vet I go to now and he knew it was Asthma very fast and her Echo for her heart was fine. The bad place has been shut down. She gets Depro Midrol when her Asthma acts up and some times Pred Pills. I have seen her have very bad attacks too. I still cant believe I went to taht terrible Vet here. It was because we were new here and I was desperate. She had a very bad Cold at the time and all the Vets we called were booked up. The one I go to now was the first one we called and also is the number one Vet here. do you want any info on Asthma?

Wellington has asthma, and takes pred for it, and I suspect Bonaparte may have it too - I am monitoring him for symptoms with the vet's advice before we go further. If your cat has the symptoms then you must find a vet who will suggest xrays - it is the only way to confirm it. Also the vet needs to know all about the side effects of prednisone, the most common treatment, and be willing to work with you to find the lowest possible dose to keep your cat free of attacks. It is a fine balance and involves a lot of monitoring and vet visits.
