Some individual Jello containers, that I bought a year and a half ago, for the liquid diet I had to be on before my colonoscopy. I also have a plastic bag full of condiment packages (Arby Sauce, Taco Bell sauce, horseradish sauce, ect., that all must be petrified by now...)

Well, as I cleaned it out before coming to the computer, it's all pretty fresh now. But since the question was asked before I did that, I fess up to a part tub of raspberry coulis from last summer when the berries were fresh. It had made its way to the back corner of the bottom shelf and hidden there, and produced quite an impressive science project
-- so furry, I almost had to pet it.

We bought a new fridge so we cleared out all the "what the heck is that?!" food items from our old fridge

Showoff!

I dread to think what the oldest thing is, probably some pickles at the back somewhere...
We always put leftovers in the fridge rather than throwing them out even though we know we wont eat them, I dont feel so guilty throwing food away when it's actually gone off
My husband had an unopened pack of pate in the fridge last week, he took it out to eat, realised it was past the sell-by date, decided not to eat it.... and then put it back in the fridge to go off for a bit longer before he could throw it away!

As a sub-note to this I have to say that I firmly believe yoghurt goes off at midnight of the 'use-by' date

A jar of BÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]arnaise sauce from France - which this thread just prompted me to throw out.

Ok, I'm gonna fess up. I bought 2lbs of hamburger meat like 3 weeks ago. I split it up and was going to freeze what was left of the meat after I made nachos.
I ended up putting it in the fridge and forgetting about it

I found it this morning, behind the kid's Capri Sun box.....
Needless to say, it went straight to the outside trash!

Other then that, the oldest thing, Probably the condiments and pickles
With 2 growing boys, food doesn't last long around here

In my fridge, the oldest thing is the last jar of olives I bought for my mom. I moved it from her house (after she passed away), to our first house, to our second house, to here. So, that isn't going to get thrown away until either it explodes or starts talking to me. I think olives basically last forever, right? (and, no, I don't eat them! It's just that I got them a few days before she went into the hospital because she was craving them, so it's kind of sentimental). They're almost 4 yrs old.

Now, the rest of the things I won't talk about because that is the OLDEST thing! Yeah, I really do have to clean out my fridge!
