grrr......................................

Thats all I can say to myself. Less than a couple miles from home got nailed going 54 in a 35 mph. I saw the cop and slowed down too late. The speed limit changes to 45 about 200 feet away!!!

He reduced to over 10 mph but ticket is $160. grrrrrrr

Happy Valentines day to me (not).

I got one a few years ago - 80 in a 65 - and the fine was $180. I couldn't appear on the court date (would not have made sense financially), so I paid it.

If you can go to traffic school I think you can get it reduced - or at least not lose the points on your license..

Aw, that's a bummer. I don't get many, but every couple years I get caught with having a lead foot. I try to look at it on the positive side - for all the times I do speed and don't get caught, the fine every couple years is a small price to pay.

I had to laugh at that!

Try getting pulled over for going 1 MPH over the speed limit.
Cops were pulling everyone over, there were 3 of them on a small stretch of highway right by my house. No ticket, they were just checking to see if I knew I was speeding....
I know the cop, so he hasn't let me forget it either!

We have a certain road here in the Brighton area which can be a complete nightmare! Every few yards there is a darn camera! And one morning, at about 1:30am, my now ex boyfriend got a lovely speeding ticket from the police officer who saw us go past at a speed (he was stood near the camera at the time).

His fine was about £200, it was so high because he had only just decided to cut in front of a 4x4 driver, then get caught speeding....to say the least, I was NOT impressed...I sat in the front of the car when he pulled over with my arms folded across my chest. And I spent the whole journey home cursing him too

I hear that! Hubby and I went about 5 or 6 blocks to pick up some KFC when our daughter was about 2 years old. Because we were on side streets near our home and didn't even go onto a main thoroughfare, I just held Jennifer on my lap with both of us belted in with my seat belt. A police officer saw us and gave us a nice fat ticket. My hubby was sooooo mad.

I looked on the citation and saw were he "got" me. It was about 1/4 mile or so before I saw him. Gotta remember that for future reference. And I had thought about taking a different way home-should have done so. grrr.......

That's why it's always a good idea to stick to the speed limit or no more than 5 over. I know I don't always manage it, but I really do try because I can't afford to get a ticket!

Hope you can get it reduced. Try the broken speedometer defense - it seems to work pretty good around here.
